Love all of this Lucy. It reminds me of a conversation Iβve had with an agent this week who was absolutely lovely and very keen on my work, super complimentary etc etc, but she was very honest. Until your Instagram followers are higher, you wonβt be looked at and we need to work on that. Iβm in a period of contemplation about that right now considering my own evolution and whatβs important to me. This article is another reminder that numbers pay dividends, and Iβm contemplating how to do that in a way thatβs meaningful and sustainable to me and if the βnumbersβ donβt work out how I can still be of service. Nicola Washington is always super helpful with that. But yeh, I feel this article and am 100% here for the evolution β€οΈβ¨
Oh my goodness itβs so tiresome. It shouldnβt be about that. My engagement on Instagram is.5% my open rate here is 40%. Surely you would want an engaged audience over vanity metrics. Make it make sense.
There are plenty of things that confuse me about Substack, and your experiences at the time of your publications deletion and since have increased some of my confusion. That said, I am really glad that you are here and channelling the energy into strength!

Not loving the poor customer service from substack ... I've got a real thing with customer experience at the moment after quite a few big brands have let me down. Don't know why they've all suddenly got grab it energy and don't care about how they treat those who are funding their success!

The frustrating part is that, through my professional eyes, it is also an utterly wasted opportunity.
Completely. And for what? They tainted your experience of working with them and the ripple effect is that all your subscribers feel that taint too.
