Watch First: How to make a dynamic LinkedIn profile cover with Adobe Express
π§π»βπ³ PR Recipe: How to build a kick-ass LinkedIn profile
PR Cooking Level: Beginner
Time to Prepare: 30-minutes
Ingredients:
βπΌ A 5-7 word strapline
β‘οΈ A call to action e.g. subscribe, join my newsletter, buy my book, do my quiz, register for tickets
πΈ A kick-ass headshot
ποΈ Alternate imagery
Method
Step 1: Strapline
What do you want to be known for? Who do you serve? Do you have a one-liner that describes your work?
Step 2: A call to action
What do you want someone landing on your page to do? Book you for a speaking gig? Buy your book? Hire you for a workshop? Do you have a free introductory course?
What is an excellent introduction to you or your work?
Step 3: A kick-ass headshot
Head straight on, no sunglasses, no distracting jazzy background. If you donβt have a professional headshot, you can take one on your smartphone and crop the background to match the brand's colour.
Step 4: Alternate imagery
If you do a multitude of things, can you create a photo collage here? If you are an artist, can you showcase your work? If you are a PR, can you showcase your best press coverage? The more unique your work is, the better the opportunity to show it off on the banner.
π« Invitation:
Some of you know Iβve worked as an Adobe Express ambassador for the last four years.
I want to send the lift back down to my community. If you want to learn more about the program and join the waitlist, click here.
π Example 1: Campaign
Louis GrenierΒ (as a segue, is giving us a masterclass in how to launch a book) has taken over his profile cover for a campaign. In this instance, his book. Itβs clean, simple, and grabs our attention.
π¦ Example 2: Portfolio / multi-hyphenate careers
Vanessa Belleau makes prime use of her background by having multiple images to represent her work, from keynote speaking to showcasing her artwork. Perfect for those of us who wear multiple hats to use more of a collage function.
Example 3: Retaining personal brand whilst working for another
A little shoutout to the co-founder of my children here,Β Hadrien Chatelet. What I love about this example is that he shares his values and personality even though he works for a tech company. For those of you employed in a larger corporation, donβt be afraid to add some spice to your banners.
Over to you?
