So unreal, I have not quite been able to play back here in the same way since Iโve left either. I really admire how you still promote and use the platform. But Iโm still getting my feet under the table so I think I will be here in some way in the future.
Maybe we can do something together about thisโฆ. ๐ค
Oooh! Yeah, moving my payment stuff away from here helped me take the pressure off. Right now the โplayโ is just something extra, since I have my members off site.
Raising a glass to a writer I deeply admire as she embarks on an exciting new chapter with her work. Itโs inspiring to watch someone keep evolving and building in bold ways. Cheers to whatโs next!
I'm testing a connection with Outpost, which is helping me with email automation and is reasonably priced. It's already paid for itself in saving customers from expired credit cards.
I joined as a paid subscriber a while back. Directly after joining as paid, the debacle happened. I put my paid subscription on hold. Today I got a notice that my subscription will be renewed in 3 days. I have tried to cancel this many times, but I have not been able to do this. I did a google search to see how this could be done and found this post: https://tacticalnotebook.substack.com/p/turning-off-automatic-renewal . Can you please cancel my subscription/stop it from renewing on your end. I tried to find a contact email for you, but I don't see one on your new site.
Hi Monica, Apologies, I did not see this yesterday as was away from my desk. I am sorry you have not been able to get in touch with me easily to cancel your subscription and I will absolutely issue the cancellation now.
I can imagine with all of the tech issues Substack has given you, the thought of leaving mustโve lingered around permanently. It totally makes sense. Congrats on taking more ownership - Thatโs what this whole journey is about, anyway :)
Yes, I just never recovered from it. And things seemed to go from bad to worse. I really wanted to be an example of how well something can be handled when it goes wrong. And now, I sort of dream about reporting back in a year to the naysayers who say I canโt grow without the platform to show them how I did it.
Absolutely unreal situation that led to this, but happy youโve built your own home.

Letโs definitely figure it out!

Oh wow. Thank you Lucille I really appreciate that.
It was so great to get your newsletter in my inbox! Hooray for you! And Janet says hi! ๐ชจ
Iโve missed you! Will you take Janet with you wherever you go next? Have you gone?
Maybe we could go live sometime in December? Thatโd be fun! ๐คฉ
100%
Havenโt left yet, Lucy! Will be taking some snaps of Janet before I leave just in case ๐
Dec 29 is our โleaving the islands where Janet isโ date. And itโs been a whirlwind! ๐ค
I checked your recommended ghost platform. Do they have email automation of any kind?

Wow Lucy! Sending you all the best with your next chapter. I hope it's profitable and fun.
Thank you so much, still doing that unpacking but really excited about where it can go next!

Sending love for the next chapter ๐
Thank you. Still baby steps for now but Iโm enjoying unpacking.
