Yes please! I'm looking to write guest posts for other Substacks aligned with mine - I can write on topics like taking imperfect action, self-care, self-compassion and honesty around motherhood. Thanks Lucy ❤️
Brilliant Lucy! I feel like I’m just chipping away at better understanding the right fit. My guest “appearances” do really well for me but I’d love to “just” write a piece too. I pitched to Breathe magazine a little while back which I think is a good fit for me and I wonder if now I would do a better job. ✨
Yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes not so much the business expertise but the personal stories / human interest side. I think this helps our audience really connect with us too!
Another corker of a post full to the brim with ideas! Thanks so much Lucy 🫶
Can I ask about what to do a while after you’ve had some press coverage etc - is it good to have somewhere where the links all hang out? Should you keep shouting about them? Reminding people that you were featured? Or does a year old feature look worse because it’s not recent?
I was also featured a couple of times in the press but for my interiors business rather than it being directly related to what I’m doing now. Should I bring those articles out of the closet?
Thanks Lucy. Lots to think about now… mind buzzing! Happy Sunday! Kxx
So many great questions! Actually great prompts for a stand-alone post. No I 100% whip them out again and again. I share as lessons in how I did it so others can. Mark six months since / one year since etc….
Thank you for the mention Lucy, and I'm saving this post to work through and come back to again and again ❤️. I put out a call for collaboration for guest posts on Notes earlier this week and was so pleased by the response, I'm taking your advice to hype myself more 🙌
In particular, the 'pitch buckets'. It's a really good way of formalising what you do and don't speak about! All too often, PRs focus on business only, or go the other way and attack anything and everything. This kind of structure helps keep things focused and on message.

Paid subscribers: I prefer collaborating with my paid subscribers rather than trying to catch a “famous” writer on here.
Love this advice. Thanks, Lucy
This is 100% one of my favourite takeaways. I can see so many other writers picking partners for ego. Glad this resonated with you.
There is SO much value in this post, Lucy. THANK YOU for pouring so much into the world. We need you.
AWWWW Thank YOU! I really appreciate the love after it arrived to crickets.

Newsjacking and Leverage Trade Reports / industry verticals are things I really want to get into.
Thanks Lucy. I really value your advice. The subscription fee is so worth it!!
Yes! Next I guess I need to give tips for doing all of these….
Yes please!
Adding to the list
Could you add 'nominating yourself for awards' as well, please? Unless that's somewhere already.....?
Yes I’ll dissect them 🫡
Great post Lucy. I'm brand new here so I'm still figuring it all out. 'Recommending' you now!
Ooooh. This one will be a keeper for you once you are at full speed. I’ll let you get your warm up reps in first! 😜

Pull out choice quotes or tips?
Press page on website?
Links at bottom of Substack page?
Brilliant! I’ll be whipping them out soon then! 👍 Thanks Lucy x
Sorry.. is it just me or is "whipping them out" starting to sound really funny? 🤣
With my ice cream 🍦 in the title I honestly just go Mr Whippy
Always delicious! (Although actually, tbh, I think I prefer an old fashioned non-whippy ice cream. Old skool. 🤣)
ALWAYS funny! 🤣🤭 xx

Oooh - I’m actually going to do a mini directory too! Shall I put in that? ❤️
Such an awesome post Lucy! 👍😊 So much to come back to again and again.. thank you! 🙏x
Thank you lovely
Love this content. Really do.

You’re right! This is pure gold! Thanks for persisting, and for the wisdom.
Haha. Thank you - I appreciate that.
That’s a great graphic. 19 year old kid asked me “what do you do?” I don’t believe she expected the answer she got. She’s now a coaching client…
