Hi Lucy! Customising the colours of my dividers and buttons is on my To Do list. Here is a link to guides on how to do it from Substack Soirée (from the very helpful & lovely Sara Tasker & Keeley Rees).
A very helpful read! I’m just going to hang out here for a while before make the move. So... you can run a newsletter as part of your profile so it’s almost separate?
Just coming back to this as I'm thinking about how best to structure my pieces here and what to send out. I used to do a monthly newlsetter but I'm going to be dropping a weekly podcast episode for the next 6 weeks which I'd quite like to send out. Wondering how I then structure my newsletter as I've actually separated out some of the elements - I've got Creative Snacks which is a quick links piece to inspiring things. And I'd like to do a spotlight feature on someone from my community. Not sure what is left for a newsletter, or if I even need one? It's hard to know how often people want to get things from me! Any thoughts would be much appreciated x
I think a lot of it is experimentation. I'm going on a send one thing a week to read and one thing as a prompt for my paid-for community. I think as you get the momentum going you can try out different things. It might be you drop the podcast in the podcast area and then do a weekly email that includes the podcast and / or something else or just stand alone podcast? Or you do a few emails. I think whilst it is good to focus on one project you also want to think about longevity too, what can you keep up?
Welcome to Substack Lucy! I've really enjoyed following your work in recent months and I'm excited to see you here. I've just celebrated a year of writing on here with my newsletter System Changers. I've also been pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use, and by the power of the Substack network to help me find new subscribers! I've just started using the sections functionality and agree that it's a little confusing. The way they describe them as newsletters doesn't help as it makes them sound like a separate publication, but I'm pretty sure they're not! Hope you're enjoying the stepping back and well done for making the move 👊
Yes! I had loads of sections in the beginning but combined them all now. Never say never they may split again one day. What topics do you cover? Any big learnings in last year? Thank you for commenting and being here.
Hmm maybe I need to check what I've done haha 😅. Ah you're welcome! I'm a coach and I write for and about people who lead systemic change. The newsletter provides inspiration and resources to help system changers with their personal growth and transformation. My biggest lesson from the year is how helpful it's been to carve out a safe and encouraging space for me to write online. I wrote some reflections here!

Yes that’s how I’m going to trial it. Not sending out every article I write.

Some of your other posts say only paid subscribers can comment. Have you switched it back on again?
Thanks for flagging I need to look into it
