Hiya š,
One of my very last agency clients was Sam Conniff. Entrepreneur, Speaker & Author of Be More Pirate. He was launching a project called the Uncertainty Experts.
That project led to me stopping taking on clients.
Iād already seen Sam speak at Second Home Hackney, and he was undoubtedly one of the most funny, charming, and compelling public speakers I have ever heard.
If people heard him speak, they would want to buy a ticket.
My strategy was not to get him press coverage. His business goal was to sell tickets quickly, so I wanted to get him to demo the Uncertainty Experts and chat with people about the work.
We worked together so that Sam hosted a press and VIP preview, appeared on podcasts, and wrote guest articles.
I hadnāt anticipated how rooted I would become in the project itself, and it forever shifted my thinking.
What is the Uncertainty Experts?
A basic description would be to call it an online course with some on-demand recordings.
This doesnāt do it justice.
Created in partnership with neuroscientists from UCL and producers from Netflix. The slick production makes it feel like you are stepping into an interactive documentary with archive footage and expert interviews.
Measurements are taken throughout, meaning you also contribute to the biggest experiment in uncertainty.
The plot twist
I was exposed intensely to the Uncertainty Experts from the x2 press previews and the first beta launch.
The exercises and prompts made me acknowledge I had already faced enormous uncertainty stopping me from trying new things.
